Many thanks to Paperbark, Matcha Mylkbar, Vegilicious, and Weirdoughs for all the mouth-watering food on the night!
Vegala guests watched the sun fade into the ocean as the St Kilda LSC venue room glowed golden. The inimitable DJ Mockadile brought his signature laid-back playlist of tunes, and as the night wore on spontaneous clusters of dancing broke out, forming an impromptu dance floor which continued until closing.
ALV president Noah Hannibal and campaigner Emma Hakansson gave speeches thanking the guests for their support and detailing some of ALV’s work in 2019, including the just launched Goat Truth campaign, which received huge applause at the news of a recent victory in removing goat milk soaps from Miranda Kerr’s personal-care products.
Patrons generously bid for a selection of fantastic prizes during the live auctions, raffles and silent auctions on offer. Money raised on the night will is going directly towards ALV’s Liberation Sanctuary, a forever home for rescued animals.
Guests left the venue grinning and overwhelmingly thanked us for a wonderful evening, as they were presented with a gift bag of goodies to take home.
Incredibly talented makeup artist Inèz very generously donated her time and supplies to provide a makeup touch-up service. She also offered tips and advice about how best to apply makeup to suit an individual’s complexion and style.
If you missed out on tickets this year, keep a lookout for Vegala 2020. We plan to evolve and innovate every year!

There are so many different ways to support the liberation of animals.
From professional athletes to exercise enthusiasts, people are thriving on plant-strong diets all around the world, and now our Vegan Easy website has a new section to inspire your own vegan fitness journey.
Bees produce honey for bees, not humans. When nectar and pollen from flowers is in short supply, bees rely on their stored honey as their food source, which keeps them healthy and sees them through colder months.
The new edition of the Vegan Easy booklet has just launched. This powerful and eye opening guide clearly makes the argument for veganism - for the sake of animals, the environment, and human wellbeing.
