This overwhelming support has allowed us to purchase hundreds of bales of hay for our over 140 rescued animals. We are truly humbled and cannot express our heartfelt gratitude enough.
While we’ve seen a small amount of rain that has slightly greened the grass, we are now facing a “green drought.” Despite the green appearance, the grass lacks the length and substance to provide adequate nourishment for our animals.
With over two months remaining in the campaign, we have decided to increase our fundraising goal. This will enable us to:
To everyone who has already donated to our appeal – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your compassionate support has made an immeasurable difference in the lives of the animals in our care.
Our dams provide water for almost all our rescued animals, including cows, sheep, pigs, goats, deer, and alpacas. For the first time since we have been here one of our dams is empty and the other is desperately low.
Our normally lush valleys are dry and brown, with zero grass. We are facing surging hay prices, with rapidly decreasing availability. The costs have already been devastating, with unprecedented water cartage and more hay being required than ever before.
In just a few short months our lush green valleys and full dams have gone from this…
…to this…
Since the 1980s Liberation Sanctuary has been a refuge for thousands of rescued animals, and now we need your generosity to make sure the animals in our care continue to thrive. Severe rainfall deficiency can be catastrophic, and your support will help make the world of difference.
Unlike the farming community, we receive no financial drought assistance from the government. So even the smallest donation is gratefully appreciated. Your kindness will be crucial in allowing us to purchase round hay bales for the cows and life giving water, and cover the mounting costs of this drought. Please donate at Chuffed.org.
We thank you in advance for any help you can provide in these desperate times.
