I'm hate'n it! name it murder The truth behind McDonald's
Name It Burger

Since launching their "Name it Burger" campaign to name the new McDonald's burger, the McDonald's website has been inundated with suggestions like 'Murder Burger', the 'Obese Burger', the 'Animal Abuse Burger', the 'McErectileDysfunction Burger', the 'McDeath' and the 'McF**kingDisgusting Burger'.

The fast food workers union UNITE, who have campaigned in Australia against McDonald's managers bullying young workers, have also come up with some great suggestions for the new burger, including the 'Slave Wages Burger', the 'Stop Bullying Workers Burger' and the 'Mc$16 Min Wage Now Burger'.

Sadly, it is unlikely that McDonald's will ever make these brilliant suggestions public. So in the interests of letting the public know what people really think the new McDonald's burger should be named, we are launching the "Name it Murder" competition. If you want to let the world know what you really think of the new McDonald's burger, enter our Name it Murder competition. While you're at it, feel free to visit the McDonald's site NameItBurger to directly let them know what you think of them.

Here are some facts to consider while contemplating what to name that burger:

The menu at McDonald's is based on meat. They sell millions of burgers every day in 35 countries throughout the world. This means the constant slaughter, day by day, of animals born and bred solely to be turned into McDonald's products.

Many of them - especially chickens and pigs - spend their lives in the entirely artificial conditions of huge factory farms, with no access to fresh air or sunshine and no freedom of movement.

Their deaths are bloody and barbaric. In the slaughterhouse, animals often struggle to escape. Cattle become frantic as they watch the animal before them in the killing-line being prodded, beaten, electrocuted, and knifed.

If you really want to see what happens to McDonald's burgers before they are burgers, watch the slideshow in the photoframe above, with photos taken recently inside an Australian slaughterhouse.
